Spring into the Park
Date: 22nd April 2017
Location: QEII Arena - Telford Town Park
Time: 11:00 - 16:00
Spring into the Park will kick off the new season of events in Telford Town Park when it returns in April
After its success last year, the free annual family festival returns with a new theme celebrating St George’s Day weekend on Saturday 22 April.
Spring into the Park 2017 is celebrating England’s green and pleasant outdoors and promises to deliver a menu of quirky and traditional activities for everyone to have a go at, including archery, camp fire building, sports, traditional funfair games and arts and crafts.
This year’s special guest will be making appearances throughout the day. He has knobbly knees and turned-out toes and a poisonous wart at the end of his nose – it’s The Gruffalo!
The Queen Elizabeth II Fields In Trust Telford Town Park Arena will take on a country show feel when it hosts a llama show jumping event, as well as dog, duck and sheep shows.
Those attending Spring into the Park will be able to celebrate St George’s Day with an emphasis on all things English, including tea and cake.
There will be all the fun of the English fayre activities including: Ball in the Bucket, Helter Skelter Hoopla, Buzz Wire, High Striker and Fairground Organ.
Councillor Liz Clare, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: “We’re excited to have Spring into the Park return to the Town Park.
“This year’s event is set to be the best yet, so I’d encourage everyone who can, to come join us 11am-4pm, get outdoors, get active and most importantly have fun.”
