Information Advice and Support Service (IASS)
SENDIASS are a statutory service who provide free, confidential and impartial information and advice for children or young people who have a special educational need/disability, and their parents, and who live in Telford and Wrekin. They provide help for education, health and social care issues, so you can feel much more confident in being able to take an active role in making sure you or your child's needs are met.
Who are we?
Our SENDIASS team are skilled to give you accurate, useful, relevant information and advice about special educational needs and disabilities in the areas of education, health and social care. They'll use their knowledge and experience to support you in making decisions about your educational issues and concerns.
What do we do?
How we can help you
- Listen to your concerns and provide information and advice on the 'phone or in person
- Work with you to explore your options
- Help you prepare for meetings
- Help to explain reports written by professionals
- Give you information in relation to SEND law to enable you to participate and make informed decisions regarding your child's education
- Signpost you to other sources of information and support
- Work in partnership with schools and the local authority to develop positive relationships and outcomes

Who can access the service?
If you are a parent with a child at school, or you are a young person up to the age of 25, and you are looking for practical help with special educational needs procedures, information concerning health or social care or you just want someone to listen to your concerns then get in touch with us.
We can help even without a diagnosis, if you have concern that there is a special need or disability. The special educational need may or may not include one or more of the following:
- ADHD or ADD
- ASD or ASC
- Anxiety
- Attachment disorder
- Developmental delay
- Dyspraxia or movement coordination
- Foetal Alcohol Syndrome
- Genetic condition
- Health condition
- Moderate learning difficulties
- PDA
- Physical disability

- Complex learning needs
- Speech and language difficulties
- Social, emotional or mental health difficulties
- SpLD or dyslexic
- Tourettes syndrome
