Families of Learning Disabled in Telford group has been set up to enable parent carers and learning disabled people to share information, resources and experiences of local provisions.
The Mencap definition of "learning disability" is as follows:
A learning disability is a reduced intellectual ability and difficulty with everyday activities – for example household tasks, socialising or managing money – which affects someone for their whole life. People with a learning disability tend to take longer to learn and may need support to develop new skills, understand complicated information and interact with other people.

Who are we?
A small group of parent carer volunteers with lived experience. Who also look beyond the borough at best practice associated with learning disability countrywide, attend various meetings/events advocating for learning disability.
What do we do?
Families of Learning Disabled in Telford group has been set up to enable parents/carers and learning disabled people to share information, including signposting, resources and experiences of local provisions. They aim to support people with learning disabilities by empowering and liberating individuals, while also enabling parent carers through shared knowledge and information.
Who can access the service?
Learning disabled people and their families in Telford and Wrekin, regardless of the age of the person with the learning disability.
