What is ICAN2?
ICAN2 provides targeted and preventative level support for children and young people where disability has a moderate or severe impact on day-to-day life. ICAN2 activities are commissioned by the local authority, designed for children with moderate, severe, and profound disabilities who are unable to access universal/universal plus services.
What is the eligibility criteria?
In order to be eligible to access ICAN2, children and young people must:
- Meet the criteria of the ‘Targeted and Preventative Level Support’ within Telford and Wrekin Council’s Short Breaks Statement
- Be aged 17 or under
- Be a resident within Telford and Wrekin
What can ICAN2 members access?
- Creative Arts - 4All Foundation run a creative arts club at Admaston House Community Centre. The sessions run three evenings a week and are divided into dance, drama, and music, with an arts and crafts table available at every session. The sessions are centred around child led play and children can play instruments, design and colour costumes and masks, enjoy the music and have a boogie. Parents are able to drop their children off, or can stay if they would prefer. You can find out more by emailing info@4all.foundation
- Sports and Leisure - Genius Tuition run a sports and leisure club at Southall Special School. The session runs every Saturday morning. The sessions are centred around child led play and children can play a sport or do some arts and crafts. Parents are able to drop their children off, or can stay if they would prefer. - Activity Passes – Passes currently cover entry to Tenpin Bowling, Attingham Park, Shugborough Estate, Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World and Ironbridge Museums. Bookings can be made by emailing shortbreaks@telford.gov.uk including the child’s name, the pass and the date of the booking.
How can I apply to become an ICAN2 member?
To apply to be an ICAN2 member, you can download an application form to return to shortbreaks@telford.gov.uk or ask your allocated worker. The ICAN2 membership application must be completed and if accepted as eligible, your child will be entered onto the membership list in order to take part in any targeted activities or access the activity passes.
